Scotty Cardle weighed in at 9st 13lbs 3oz this afternoon in Blackpool ahead of his fight with Yordan Vasilev tomorrow night at the Winter Gardens.

British title warm up for Scotty

Scott’s opponent has been confirmed as Bulgarian Yordan Vasilev In a 4 rounder.

Vasilev has been in with current British champion Terry Flanagan, Stephen Foster, Adam Dingsdale and many of the big names in British boxing.

His current record stands at 57 fights with 18 wins.

This should prove a suitable warm up bout for Scott’s assault on the British title scheduled for late March.

The bout takes place on the Prizefighter undercard this Saturday 14th February in Blackpool.

Scotty Cardle is expecting a tough bout when he challenges Kirk Goodings for the Sunderland fighter’s English title at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester on September 13, live on Sky Sports, but says he’ll relish the opportunity to earn a shot at the coveted British title.

The Lytham St Annes man is unbeaten in 15 pro fights and steps up to fight Goodings for the English strap in a battle that doubles up as an eliminator for the Lonsdale belt.

“As an amateur he boxed at a much higher weight and I do think that as he gets better and bigger opponents he’ll start to look better,” Gallagher told Sky Sports.

“I’ve seen it in the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, the first time I took him he was brilliant sparring Ray Beltran and then he comes back and fights journeymen – it’s not easy.
